Episode 4 – Hummus

In this episode we are going to make Hummus, an amazing recipe that uses tahini as a main ingredient. Hummus is a wonderful spread in your sandwiches or used as a dip with your pita chips, it has many uses from hors d’oeuvres all the way to a main dish.

The origins of hummus are not well known but there are many cultures that claim it. Most likely it was created in Egypt, where they have found records of it being mentioned in the 13th century. Whomever created it, all I have to say is that we are lucky they did.

The simple recipe has been stretched into many variations using different ingredients. There are now major companies that sell it premade in the coolers at most grocery stores and this has created many jobs around the world.

I hope you enjoy this recipe and have fun making it.

Ingredients:

1 cup of Garbanzo beans

½ cup of fresh tahini

1 clove of fresh garlic

1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
